New credit card for campus travelers Because of this change, Diners Club has suspended cash-advance privileges associated with the travel card. Those who need cash advance capabilities between now and July 1 can visit www-travel.berkeley.edu/travel to download a request form. Forms should be sent to 441 University Hall, MC 1000. Proposed Chavez holiday for UC The proposal seeks to honor Chavez’ impact on the farm labor movement and his influence on the state’s agricultural and labor history. Staff and faculty are encouraged to review and comment on this proposal. Send comments to sellison@uclink4.berkeley.edu or 200 California Hall, MC 1510. West campus entry gate receives award The annual award recognizes renovation or new construction projects that incorporate historical sensibility. The gate also received a commendation from the Downtown Berkeley Association, as a welcome addition to the ongoing revitalization of Center Street and an inviting link between downtown and the campus. The Class of ’53 raised $250,000 to create the gate as their 45th reunion gift to the campus. Web site showcases e-Berkeley efforts The new site — http://callisto.chance.berkeley.edu/eberkeley/ — gives an overview of the initiative and the major projects that are part of the growing effort. It also includes a news site with the latest updates, as well as a video from Chancellor Berdahl explaining e-Berkeley and its importance.
