Information on UC’s action against Enron is available online The suit is to recoup losses to the university portfolio resulting from purchase and sale of Enron stock. Frequently asked questions, links to documents from the treasurer’s office and retirement fund, and a field for comments and questions are included in the site. Undergraduate Admissions adds new web-based services The web site will allow students to submit their statement of intent to register with payment of $100 deposit by credit card, submit a statement of legal residence, and register for orientations. As of last year, applicants can also use the web site to find out whether or not they have been accepted, review financial aid, receive invitations to welcome receptions, and apply for housing. The new web address of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions — featuring these new online services in a revamped design — is http://admissions.berkeley.edu. Revisions of faculty code of conduct and discipline issued Section 016 deals with discipline and penalties for violations of the Faculty Code of Conduct. The Berkeley campus, as required, is currently developing procedures for investigation and discipline of faculty misconduct. Center for Health Research offers research awards All campus faculty members with an interest in the center’s research priorities are eligible to apply, although preference will be given to junior faculty and center members. The application deadline is March 1; awards will be announced by April 1. Submit applications to Peg Hardaway Farrell, program manager, at phf@uclink.berkeley.edu. For information, including the research priorities to be funded, call 643-721, or visit the center at 423 Warren Hall. UC faculty recommends new policy on admission tests The recommendations were submitted to the systemwide Academic Council Jan. 30 for additional review by the faculty. If approved by the faculty, the recommendations would go before the Board of Regents. The proposal is posted at www.ucop.edu/news.
