A note from Chancellor Berdahl

Friends,

I want to thank you for the expressions of support and good cheer that so many of you have sent following my prostate cancer surgery on Feb. 7. Your good wishes helped us through a trying time — Peg and I both appreciate the support of this wonderful community.

I am happy to report that the surgery went well — I was diagnosed at a very early and treatable stage, and the prognosis is good for a full recovery. I have been working from home, in daily touch with my office, and I am feeling fitter each day.

My thanks to Executive Vice Chancellor Paul Gray, who will continue to carry out many of my duties during the remainder of my recovery time. I hope to see you all back on campus on a regular basis later in March.
