Updated list of recently deceased is available online Maps, books — for a song — at all-day campus sale, Oct. 5 Nautical charts, aerial photos, hanging classroom maps, topographical maps, and navigation charts, some dating back to the 19th century, will be among the items available. Most maps will cost $2; from 3 to 5 p.m., they will be offered at half-price. About 2,500 books on scholarly subjects will also be for sale, at $1 to $100 each.For information, call 642-3318 or 642-4368. Israeli, Palestinian scholars to discuss prospects for peace Two scholars — one Israeli and the other Palestinian — will address these issues Friday, Oct. 4, at the Townsend Center for the Humanities, as part of a national speaking tour. The speakers are Oren Yiftachel, professor of geography at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, and Rema Mammami, professor of gender studies at Birzeit University on the West Bank. Scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m., the event is co-sponsored by the campus’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies and by Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace, an international network of scholars working for a just peace in Israel and Palestine.
