Getting a massage

25 September 2002 | Eight certified massage therapists, each with a minimum of 500 hours of experience, are on duty daily (except Sunday) at the Recreational Sports Facility’s Cal Rec Club.

Massages are available in half-hour, one-hour, and 90-minute time blocks. Several types of massage are offered, including traditional Swedish and Shiatsu, as well as Sports Massage, Trigger Point, and Energy Therapy. One therapist even specializes in massage during pregnancy.

For those who can’t get away from the office, on-site chair massages and massage workshops are available. Gift certificates can also be purchased for friends or co-workers.

To schedule a massage at the Cal Rec Club, call 643-8030 or visit the customer-service window at the Recreational Sports Facility (2301 Bancroft Way) to make an appointment. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Appointments are available Mon. through Fri. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3:30 to 8 p.m., and Sat., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fees are $25/$35 for a half hour; $40/$50 for one hour; and $55/$70 for 90 minutes (RSF member/non-RSF member). Discounted packages are also available for $140/$175 for four one-hour sessions and $205/$260 for four 90-minute sessions.
