16 October 2002 | Germaine LaBerge, an editor at the Bancroft Library’s Regional Oral History Office, and Professor Emeritus Earl Cheit celebrate the completion of Cheit’s oral history at the Women’s Faculty Club last Thursday.

An economist and lawyer by training, Cheit has served the campus in such wide-ranging capacities as executive vice chancellor, dean of the Haas School of Business (where he has been on the faculty since 1957), and interim director of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. His oral history — nearly 500 pages long — contains transcripts of 23 interviews conducted over three years.
