Cal's professional schools all received top 12 ranking in the most recent evaluations of U.S. News & World Report. The March 18 issue listed the following rankings (previous ranking in parentheses): Journalism Dean Tom Goldstein joined the head of Stanford's journalism program in issuing a statement, prior to release of the rankings, that decried the magazine's surveys. The most recent survey, according to Goldstein and Ted Glasser, "is bad news for higher education, a dismaying commentary on contemporary journalism, and sad news for us as journalism educators." |
