WHAT: |
The
second annual Conference on Housing and Urban Policy hosted
by UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
The
conference will explore the crisis and opportunity in
California's current housing market. Experts from development,
government and nonprofit sectors will debate how to improve
housing delivery, emphasizing smart housing investment
in urban areas, the impacts of welfare reform on needy
families, and programmatic experiences with federal subsidies.

California
State Treasurer Philip Angelides, the keynote speaker, will
address affordable housing finance. Susan Wachter, assistant
secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development,
will address the federal role in housing and urban policy
in an afternoon speech. |
