WHAT:
"Managed Care: Who Will Manage?" a public lecture at the University of California, Berkeley, to address the future of managed health care in the United States, and the economic impact of the current revolution in health care delivery and cost control. The event features Uwe Reinhardt, a Princeton University professor who is one of the nation's leading authorities on health care economics.

The lecture is being sponsored by UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy, the Robert Wood Johnson Scholars in Health Policy Program and the University Center for Health Research.

WHERE:
10 Evans Hall, a 10-story, green concrete building in the northeast quadrant of campus, just west of the East Gate on Gayley Road.

 
   
 

BACKGROUND:
Reinhardt is a professor of political economy, economics and public affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University. He has been a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences since 1978 and has served on a number of government committees and commissions related to health care policy.

He is a member of the Council on the Economic Impact of Health Reform, a privately-funded group of health experts tracking the economic impact of the revolution in health-care delivery and cost control. He has served as a member of numerous editorial boards, including the Journal of Health Economics, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
