WHAT: The 25th annual "College Information Day" for students in grades 6-12 and their parents. Representatives from more than 60 private and public colleges and universities will be at the University of California, Berkeley.Workshops, conducted in English and Spanish, will provide information on numerous topics including admission requirements, financial aid, scholarships, and college preparation. The event is free and open to the public.

WHERE: Wheeler Hall auditorium, UC Berkeley.

BACKGROUND: The program is being sponsored by the East Bay Consortium of Educational Institutions, Inc., a group of local high school and college officials who seek to increase the number of students graduating from high school and enrolling in college. Participants will include representatives from most campuses of the University of California and California State University systems; local representatives of historically black colleges and universities; community college officials; and representatives from private institutions including Mills College and St. Mary's.
