WHAT: Peter Jennings of ABC News will share insights from his new book, "In Search of America," with students of the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. The book takes readers on a journey through modern-day America, looking for connections between 21st-century life and the ideas of the nation's founding fathers. In 38 years as a broadcast journalist, Peter Jennings has covered pivotal events and has been honored with 12 national Emmys, several Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards, several Overseas Press Club Awards, and a George Foster Peabody Award. He co-wrote "In Search of America" with historian Todd Brewster.

BACKGROUND: The Pearce Initiative for Leadership Development seeks to inspire leadership through a lecture series, leadership curriculum, student fellowships, conference participation, and support of distinguished scholars in the field. The initiative is funded by David and Emily Pottruck in honor of David's friend and mentor, Terry Pearce, a veteran communication consultant, business executive and author who works extensively with business executives and political leaders. Registration is free but seating is limited.
