"Every Time We Say Goodbye": The Denouement of Postcolonial Racism

As part of the Department of African American Studies' "jazz-metaphor"-inspired lecture series, "New Directions in African Diasporic Thought," this lecture will address issues of postcolonial and colonial racism, the role of liberal democracy in racism, and the perception of Western social sciences. California's Landmark Efforts to Reduce Vehicle Emissions
California Advocacy Director Ann Notthoff of the Natural Resources Defense Council will discuss California's role in the vehicle emission-reduction movement. Annual South Asia Conference

The Center for South Asia Studies will host the center's 18th annual conference. Held at the International House beginning at 9 a.m. on both days, this conference will feature numerous panels and speakers, including a special film screening, "Mr. and Mrs. Iyer," presented by its director Aparna Sen.
