Alexei Arbatov visits Goldman School to lecture on "Super Terrorism" and its implications

WHAT
As the Regents' Lecturer, Alexei Arbatov will spend 10 days as a guest of the Goldman School. While on the UC Berkeley campus, he will meet with students and faculty members, and make presentations at the Institute of International Studies and the Institute of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies.

The Regents' Lecture on "Super Terrorism - Implications for a New Common Security Stragey" concludes his stay.

WHEN
Arbatov arrives on campus on Monday, March 3. He will be available for media interviews on Thursday, March 6, and Wednesday, March 12.

The Regents' Lecture will take place from 6-7:45 p.m., Thursday, March 13. It is open to the public.

WHERE
Booth Auditorium, Boalt Hall, UC Berkeley.

WHO
Arbatov, deputy chairman of the Defense Committee of the Russian State Duma (Parliament) and Regents' Lecturer for the University of California, Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy.

DETAILS
In his official capacities in Russia, Arbatov is responsible for the defense budget and processing of arms control treaties. Before he joined the Duma, Arbatov was department head of the Institute of the World Economy and International Relations of the Academy of Sciences for the USSR.

During Arbatov's Bay Area stay, he will visit Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia Laboratory and the Monterey Institute.
