"Weapons of Mass Destruction in an Age of Terror: Living in the Second Nuclear Age," a University of California, Berkeley forum, which is part of an ongoing program to foster debate about how the American media covers critical world issues.

It is free and open to the public.

WHO

  • Jonathan Schell, fellow at The Nation Institute and senior fellow at Yale University's Center for Globalization, and author of the just-published "The Unconquerable World: Power, Nonviolence and the Will of the People."
  • Frances FitzGerald, author of "Fire in the Lake," about the Vietnam War, and "Way Out There in the Blue: Reagan, Star Wars and the End of the Cold War."
  • Mark Danner, professor at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism and a staff writer with The New Yorker.
  • Michael Nacht, dean of UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and chair of the Pentagon's advisory panel on fighting terrorist use of weapons of mass destruction.
