WHAT
"A Roundtable Discussion on SARS." Key faculty members from the University of California, Berkeley, will discuss the repercussions of the SARS epidemic in many spheres of life: public health, society, politics, international relations, business and media.

Six UC Berkeley faculty members and Julie Reinganum, president and CEO of Pacific Rim Resources, a San Francisco- and Shanghai- based consulting firm for companies doing business in China and the Pacific Rim, will hold the discussion.
The UC Berkeley participants are:
- Thomas Gold, discussion moderator, associate professor of sociology, expert on social issues in contemporary China.
- Lawrence Cohen, associate professor of anthropology, expert on medical anthropology and South Asia.
- Teh-wei Hu, professor of public health, expert on the cost of health care.
- Kevin O'Brien, professor of political science, expert on Chinese politics and political institutions.
- Arthur Reingold, professor of public health, expert on the epidemiology and control of infectious diseases.
- Carolyn Wakeman, associate professor of journalism, expert on media coverage of contemporary China.
