WHAT
A public viewing of Wednesday night's televised debate
on the California gubernatorial recall, followed by a panel
discussion by scholars at the University of California,
Berkeley, about the
candidates' positions on issues raised during the debate.
The UC Berkeley event is being hosted by the campus's Institute of Governmental Studies.
WHEN
Tomorrow, (Wednesday, Sept. 3). Individuals are invited to gather at the Institute of Governmental Studies from 3:45 p.m. until about 6 p.m. to watch the two-hour debate, then stay for the panel discussion that will run from 6-7 p.m.
WHERE
The institute's library, 109 Moses Hall.
WHO
Panelists will include:
- James Bushnell, director of research at the University of California Energy Institute
- Helen Halpin, professor of health policy and director of the Center for Health and Public Policy Studies, UC Berkeley School of Public Health
- David Pearson, professor and dean of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education
