DETAILS
The Chancellor's Task Force on Hate and Bias is one of several steps sought by students who last spring convened a special town hall meeting to urge that more be done to make the campus a safer, more tolerant environment. The coalition of concerned students includes a wide array of communities, including African American, Latino, Asian-American, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer) students.

Since Sept. 11, 2001, some members of the campus community have reported what they feel are increasing acts of hate and bias. The mission of the task force is, to prevent and meaningfully respond to incidents of hate on campus and, in the process, create a campus climate that does not tolerate such incidents.
