WHAT
"edBlog SF 2003," a roundtable conference with pioneering educators from kindergarten through university level classes across the country who are tapping Weblog technology to teach online research, reading and writing. Noted blog writers also will participate.

The free program sponsored by the University of California, Berkeley, Bay Area Writing Project and San Francisco's Galileo Academy of Science and Technology, will explore such questions as:

  • How does blogging changes the practice, teaching and process of writing?
  • How can blogging be integrated beyond an individual classroom, lab, library or school?
  • What are the relationships between blogging and verbal performance, learning styles, collaboration and social skills?
  • How can student security and privacy be safeguarded?

WHEN
8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23.

WHERE
Galileo Academy of Science and Technology Library, 1150 Francisco St., San Francisco. The school is just east of Van Ness Avenue, and north of Lombard Street.

DETAILS
Weblogs are dynamic, flexible Web spaces that allow writers to draft, edit and publish writing to the Web, as well as to store and update material and collaborate with others on shared projects.

Reporters are welcome to attend the conference. For more information, call the Bay Area Writing Project at (510) 642-0971.
