WHAT
The "Berkeley Symposium on Same Sex Marriage: Law & Politics," a discussion by scholars and advocates, including leading voices, who represent the different sides of this major public policy debate.
The symposium at the University of California, Berkeley, is co-sponsored by the campus's Institute of Governmental Studies (IGS) and the campus's Institute for the Study of Social Change. It is free and open to the public.
UC Berkeley law professor Rachel Moran and IGS director Bruce E. Cain will moderate the panel discussions.

WHO
The 12 panelists will include representatives of gay and lesbian rights organizations, representatives of groups actively opposed to same-sex marriage, and scholars who have conducted research and taught on this issue.
