WHAT
Representatives from more than 60 colleges and universities will hold a college information fair at the University of California, Berkeley, this Saturday (Oct. 2), providing students and their parents with tips and insights on admissions, financial aid, college preparation and more.
The 27th annual College Information Day, sponsored by the East Bay Consortium of Educational Institutions and UC Berkeley, will take place at the campus's Wheeler Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to everyone, though especially students ages 12 and up are encouraged to attend.
Students will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from public and private colleges and universities across the state and country, including representatives from community colleges and historically black colleges.
Workshops in both English and Spanish will touch on subjects such as writing a personal statement for a college application, transferring from a community college to a four-year institution, preparing for college admissions tests, and keeping college as a goal.
For more information and to pre-register go to www.eastbayconsortium.org. On-site registration will be available as well.
