University of California, Berkeley, economists discuss Social Security and the current debate about its reform.

WHEN
3-5 p.m., Friday, March 11

WHERE
UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, Andersen Auditorium. The Haas School is located on Gayley Road, near Memorial Stadium

WHO
Richard Gilbert, chair of UC Berkeley's economics department, will moderate the symposium. Panelists will include:

Alan J. Auerbach, professor of economics and law, director of UC Berkeley's Burch Center on Tax Policy and Public Finance. He has served as deputy chief of staff for the U.S. Joint Committee on Taxation and as a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Ronald Lee, professor of economics and demography, director of UC Berkeley's Center for the Demography and Economics of Aging. He also is a member of the National Advisory Council on Aging.

Daniel McFadden, E. Morris Cox Professor of Economics, 2000 Nobel Laureate in Economics. He also is president of the American Economic Association for 2005.
