"Being Opinionated In America," a conversation between noted two New York Times columnists - Maureen Dowd and Tom Friedman - and Cynthia Gorney and Mark Danner, two faculty members at the University of California, Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. Gorney is associate dean, Danner is a journalism professor.

Friedman is a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner and has reported on the Middle East conflict, the end of the cold war, U.S. domestic politics and foreign policy, international economics and the worldwide impact of the terrorist threat. His "Foreign Affairs" column appears twice a week in The Times. His latest book is "The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-First Century."
Dowd, winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary, became a columnist on The Times' op-ed page after serving as a correspondent in the paper's Washington bureau. She has covered four presidential campaigns and was White House correspondent. Her latest book is "Bush World: Enter at Your Own Risk."
Both Dowd and Friedman will sign books in the lobby after the talk.
