BERKELEY – Members of the media seeking information about the University of California, Berkeley, and its Media Relations unit can now turn to an improved Web site launched today (Tuesday, Nov. 1).
At the UC Berkeley NewsCenter at https://newsarchive.berkeley.edu/news/media/, print and broadcast outlets will find:
A Media Relations staff directory, including a detailed list of staffers' "beats"
An archive of press releases produced by Media Relations
An experts directory of scholars available for interviews on hot topics
Information about campus broadcast studios and how to access them
Instructions for filing stories from campus using a free AirBears (Wi-Fi) guest account
Help obtaining parking permits
Links to campus maps
Downloadable images
An online sign-up form for receiving press releases via e-mail
A link to Critic's Choice and other campus calendar listings
The site is part of the UC Berkeley NewsCenter, a helpful resource for reporters looking for daily news about the campus. The link for the updated Media Relations' site for reporters also can be accessed from the NewsCenter home page (http://newscenter.berkeley.edu/). On the page's left hand side, look under "Media Relations," then click on "For Journalists."
