WHAT
Geospatial Imaging Systems (GIS) Day, a free, public event exploring new applications of geospatial mapping technology. Michael T. Jones, chief technology officer of Google Earth, will deliver the keynote address at the event, hosted by the University of California, Berkeley Geospatial Imaging and Informatics Facility and the Bay Area Automated Mapping Association.
WHEN

Mulford Hall, on the northwest corner of the UC Berkeley campus. Directions are at http://giif.cnr.berkeley.edu/directions.htm. The keynote address will take place in Room 100 of the Genetics and Plant Biology Building, across the courtyard from Mulford Hall.

Google Earth's Jones will speak in his keynote address about how the Web can help bring the power of geospatial mapping tools to the general public.

GIS Day launches the new Geospatial Imaging and Informatics Facility at UC Berkeley's College of Natural Resources. The facility supports the research and outreach activities of those interested in geospatial analysis utilizing remote sensing, geographical information systems, spatial analysis, landscape ecology, visualization and global positioning systems technology.
