California environmental policy conference at UC Berkeley

WHAT
"California and the Future of Environmental Policy," a conference in which ecologists, economists, planners, government officials and academics will gather to discuss California's environmental agenda for the coming decades. The event is being sponsored by the Center for Environmental Policy at UC Berkeley's School of Law (Boalt Hall), and the Center for Environmental Public Policy at the campus's Goldman School of Public Policy.

These experts will discuss climate change, air pollution, federalism issues, water pollution and conservation.

WHEN
This Thursday and Friday, Feb. 16 (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Feb. 17 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

WHERE
Panel discussions will be in the Goldberg Room of Boalt Hall. Thursday's luncheon address will be in the UC Berkeley Faculty Club's Heyns Room, noon to 1:15 p.m.

WHO
Participants will include representatives from the California Public Utilities Commission, California Air Resources Board, state Water Resources Control Board, the California State Park & Recreation Commission, and state Office of the Attorney General. Scholars from UC Berkeley, UCLA, Harvard University, UC Hastings College of the Law, Rutgers University and UC Davis will also participate.

Wayne Nastri, region 9 (Pacific Southwest) administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, will provide the luncheon address on Thursday.

Terry Tamminen, senior environmental adviser to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, will provide the closing address on Friday.
