WHAT
"Second-Term Troubles: President Bush Struggles with War, Natural Disasters, and Politics," an assessment by leading journalists and academics of the Bush presidency during the Annual Review of the American Presidency. This panel discussion is held by the Institute of Governmental Studies (IGS) at the University of California, Berkeley.
Panelists will assess the last 12 months of the presidency, including the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, Bush's appointment of two U.S. Supreme Court justices, increased criticism regarding the war in Iraq, and the earliest signs of Republican jockeying to succeed the president.
The panel also will discuss the future of the Bush presidency. The event is free and open to the public.
