New York College Tour
BERKELEY – The New Yorker magazine's 2006 College Tour comes to the University of California, Berkeley, for three days beginning Monday, Nov. 13. The program features in-classroom visits by New Yorker writers and editors, free daytime on-campus lectures, and evening programs.
Daytime programs are free and open to the public. All daytime events take place at the Morrison Library, 101 Doe Library. Evening programs are open to the public and free to students except for "About Africa," an off-campus program on Nov. 14.

Tuesday, Nov. 14, noon
"On Reporting from Seattle to Siberia," a conversation between New Yorker staff writer Michael Specter and Cynthia Gorney, a New Yorker contributor and professor at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism.
Wednesday, Nov. 15, noon
New Yorker fiction writers Donald Antrim and Gary Shteyngart will read from their work and talk with The New Yorker's fiction editor, Deborah Treisman. Book signings will follow.
Monday, Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m.
"How The New Yorker Covers the World," a talk between David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker and Orville Schell, dean of the Graduate School of Journalism. A book signing will follow. Zellerbach Auditorium, $10.
Tuesday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m.
"Hot Spots: Reporting from the Center of the Storm," a conversation among The New Yorker staff writers Jeffrey Goldberg, Jane Mayer, and Lawrence Wright that will be moderated by Orville Schell, dean of the Graduate School of Journalism. Book signings will follow. Wheeler Auditorium, free.
Tuesday, Nov. 14, 9 p.m.
A special screening of the new film, "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny," starring Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Wheeler Auditorium, $10.
Wednesday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m.
"What Next? A Post-Election Analysis," a talk between New Yorker senior editor Hendrik Hertzberg and Mark Danner, a New Yorker contributor and professor at the Graduate School of Journalism. A book signing will follow. Wheeler Auditorium, free.
