WHAT
"Shift Left: Technology and Healthcare," an Edward E. Penhoet Annual Lecture by Andrew S. Grove, co-founder and senior advisor at Intel Corporation. The public lecture is being hosted by the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Grove will discuss the role of technology in solving challenges in the U.S. health care system.

WHO
Grove, who received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley, helped found Intel in 1968. He went on to hold various leadership positions, including president, chief executive officer and chairman. In 2005, he stepped down as chairman and is now a senior advisor to executive management at Intel.
Grove has received numerous honors, including the "Technology Leader of the Year" award from Industry Week and the "CEO of the Year" award from CEO magazine. He was also named "Man of the Year" by Time magazine in 1997.
DETAILS
The Edward E. Penhoet Annual Lecture focuses on how biology, behavior and environment intersect to produce health. Penhoet, former president and CEO of Chiron Corp., served as dean of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health from 1998 to 2002. He is now president of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in San Francisco.
