WHAT
The 30th Annual Real Estate & Economics Symposium offers its annual economics forecasts and insights into the future of Bay Area real estate and business, and discusses the effects of the subprime mortgage crisis and residential housing.

The event is sponsored by the University of California, Berkeley's Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics, in cooperation with the campus's Haas School of Business and the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association.

WHO
Speakers will include:

  • Fisher Center Chair Kenneth Rosen, offering his outlook on the economy and the nation's real estate markets
  • Michael Nacht, Dean of UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and a former member of the Clinton Administration's National Security Council, delivering his insights on "U.S. National Security: What Next?"
  • Robert Freed, CEO, Summerhill Homes, and Michael J. Ghielmetti, president, Signature Properties, in a session on residential housing and the subprime mortgage crisis
  • Lynn Sedway, executive managing director, CBRE Consulting, Inc. (formerly Sedway Group)
  • James Lasher, principal, Real Estate Investment Banking, Banc of America Securities LLP
  • Fisher Center Co-Chair Robert Edelstein, who will moderate throughout the day with Richard Wollack, co-CEO, Premier Pacific Vineyards
