Police searching for missing grad student

The El Cerrito Police Department is searching for a UC Berkeley graduate student who was reported missing on March 10, 2009. According to police, Qianhe (Maggie) Zhang, a 24-year-old female citizen of China, was last seen in El Cerrito, where she resides.

Zhang, who is studying mechanical engineering, was reported missing by her roommates on March 10, and has not had contact with her roommates, campus colleagues or family in China since February 2009.

Both UCPD and Graduate Dean Andrew Szeri are in contact with El Cerrito investigators and have provided information that may be useful in the search. "We are very concerned and stand ready to offer whatever support and assistance the police and Maggie's family need", said Szeri.

If located, or if you have knowledge of her whereabouts, please contact your local police or sheriff's department, and notify the El Cerrito Police Department.
