MEMO TO THE MEDIA: CORRECTION

Reports that the names of 25 mathematics professors at the University of California at Berkeley were on a list found in the Montana cabin of bombing suspect Theodore John Kaczynski are incorrect. Confirmation by Captain William P. Foley of the UC Berkeley Police Department last week that such a list exists was based on information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Yesterday the FBI clarified the situation, stating that they had compiled the list, not Kaczynski.
