Private gifts to support the public health and neuroscience facilities proposed for the west end of the UC Berkeley campus: $20 million A gift from William V. Power to support the neuroscience program. Power, class of 1930, co-founded the insurance brokerage firm of Power and Dalziel, which merged with Marsh & McLennan in the early 1970s. For some 40 years, Power and his late wife, Ellen, have generously supported the campus, particularly intercollegiate athletics and the Haas School of Business. $10 million Gift from the estate of famed tennis star Helen Wills, the eight-time Wimbledon singles winner and Cal alumna who died in 1998. The money will be used as an endowment for graduate training and research facilities. $10 million Anonymous gift to support the neuroscience program.   Private gifts to support the molecular engineering and bioengineering building, proposed for construction at the site of Stanley Hall on the east end of the UC Berkeley campus: $50 million Anonymous. This is the largest single gift ever to the UC Berkeley campus. $10 million Gift from Gordon Moore, co-founder and chairman emeritus of Intel. __________ $100 million TOTAL PRIVATE GIFTS $ 24 million State support for the building proposed for the Stanley Hall Site. __________ $124 million TOTAL FUNDS RAISED FOR HEALTH SCIENCES INITIATIVE
