NEWS RELEASE, 3/15/99 Corporate responsibility to be discussed at UC Berkeley lecture; Former head of EPA to speak

MEDIA ADVISORY: ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT EDITORS WHAT: The former head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will discuss corporate responsibility and the environment at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. WHO: William K. Reilly was head of the EPA ten years ago when the Exxon Valdez ran into Bligh Reef in Alaska on March 24, 1989, spilling 11.2 million gallons of crude oil into the sea. The lecture at the Haas School - "Public Enterprises and Public Obligations: Achieving Sustainable Development in an Era of Expanding Corporate Power" - will cover, among other topics, the Exxon Valdez disaster, marking the first time Reilly will discuss the oil spill since leaving office. WHERE: Andersen Auditorium, 295 Faculty Wing, Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. The business school is across the street from Memorial Stadium.
