Professor Nils Hakansson has the honor of teaching the first class in the New Haas School of Business complex. Hakansson, professor of finance and accounting, is teaching in the school's Financial Investment Technology Course, an intensive month-long program in finance. Students, who work in executive-level positions in such businesses as banks, bond companies and consulting firms, come from around the world.
Meanwhile, in many of the school's new buildings, move-ins continue. The library, computer center, educational program and dean's staff have been in their new homes in the student services wing since early January. MBA and undergraduate classes began in Cheit Hall Jan. 17. Faculty, PhD offices and research centers will relocate to the faculty wing in April.
On Cal Day, April 29, the Haas School Open House will offer the campus community tours and demonstrations of its electronically linked library and its career and computer centers.
