With nearly a month to go, the Charitable Campaign is well on its way to a successful conclusion. As of Dec. 4, campus faculty and staff had contributed $96,950, with an average gift of $23.20.
The Berkeley Pledge, the campus's effort to expand its outreach programs to assure continued diversity among new students, has received more than $11,000. It is among the many programs available to Charitable Campaign donors through the United Way, which is assisting the campus with its campaign.
"We're doing great. Last year, 525 people gave to the campaign and this year, we already have 449 participants," said Linda Weimer, assistant vice chancellor for public affairs and campaign co-chair with Vice Chancellor Horace Mitchell.
Weimer urged those who have not yet contributed to remember that this year's Charitable Campaign concludes Dec. 31.
