News Brief

Contact Lens Talk

Insights into the evolution of contact lenses will be offered in a Regents' Lecture Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. in 489 Minor Hall by Boston practitioner and researcher Donald R. Korb.

His lecture, "Contact Lenses: A Blink in Time," traces the introduction of contact lenses in the 20th century through their development and looks at the effect they've had on the eye.

In nominating him for a Regents' Lecture, the Schools of Optometry and Public Health noted that his contributions as a practitioner, entrepreneur, researcher and inventor have been responsible for many of the advances in contact lenses.

He currently holds 15 U.S. patents.

Korb is now available for appointments during his campus visit, through Jan. 28. Contact Lois Quick at 642-3414 for appointments.
