Campus Blood Drive

Approximately 300 units of blood are needed daily in the East Bay. There is no substitute for blood and its components, but less than 5 percent of eligible blood donors actually donate.

Faculty and staff can help give the gift of life by participating in a drive sponsored by the Campus Benefits Unit.

The blood drive, conducted by the Blood Bank of the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association, will take place Friday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Tan Oak, East and West Madrone rooms of the King Student Center. To sign up, call the Blood Bank at (800) 841-1986, ext. 6270.

For Textbook Coordinators

The Bear Student Store Textbook Department has scheduled its annual luncheon in appreciation of departmental textbook coordinators for March 21. Invitations have gone out to campus staff who prepare textbook requisitions and should arrive in the campus mail by March 15. However, "we sometimes have trouble keeping track of all the people who should be on our guest list," says the textbook department's Wendy Johnson. Anyone inadvertently overlooked should call 642-1746.
