Athletic Director John Kasser is beginning an immediate nationwide search for a successor to men's head basketball coach Todd Bozeman, whose resignation was announced Aug. 28. The resignation came after a meeting with Kasser in which the two discussed the state of the campus's basketball program. "This is in the best interest of both Todd Bozeman and the basketball program here at Cal," said Kasser. "We appreciate his dedication to success and all his hard work, but we both concurred it's time for us to move in different directions." Bozeman, 32, was head coach for three and a half of his four seasons here. He produced a 63-35 overall win-loss record, and the team made three NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure. Kasser said he hoped to have a new head coach in place by the end of September. "We feel that because of the potential of our program with the new facility and our great fan support that it will be a very attractive situation for a coach," said Kasser.
