The selection of Berkeley's newest chancellor is expected to be announced on Thursday, March 6, following a teleconference by the Board of Regents. The new UCLA chancellor is also expected to be named at that time. The special session by teleconference will begin at noon with a closed meeting of the Committee on Educational Policy and the Committee on Finance, followed by a closed session of the full board. The regents will then meet in open session to consider the committees' recommendations and vote on compensation. The closest teleconference site to campus is at the systemwide offices, 300 Lakeside Dr., Room 2240, in the Kaiser Center. Chancellor Tien and UCLA Chancellor Chuck Young last year announced their plans to step down as of June 30.
