Exciting and educational activities await families at Cal Day -- the annual campuswide open house -- Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Family members will enjoy a day of discovery as Berkeley faculty, students, museums and departments host special events for parents and their children. Visitors can take in a wide range of activities, including sports, music, lectures and demonstrations, while experiencing one of the nation's top research universities. Program highlights include:
o Future Technology -- race robotic cars, build an intelligent robot with Legos, or learn about 21st century travel with solar, supermileage and human-powered vehicles built by engineering students. A complete schedule of all events will be available at campus entrances on the day of the event. Although limited free parking will be available, visitors are encouraged to take public transportation to Cal Day. Free shuttles will take visitors from Berkeley BART to various campus locations including the Lawrence Hall of Science and Botanical Garden.
