Berkeley professor and former head of the National Economic Council Laura D'Andrea Tyson will address faculty, staff, alumni and friends at the Haas Business School annual Faculty-Alumni Colloquium on Saturday, April 26. The day-long event includes faculty lectures, a picnic lunch and a presentation by MBA students. In her keynote, Tyson will reflect on her experiences in Washington with the Clinton administration. Several business school faculty are scheduled to speak during the day. Panelist Severin Borenstein, Haas School professor of economic analysis and policy, will address the deregulated California electricity market; Paul Gertler, a joint professor in the business school and the School of Public Health, will review health care finance in the U.S. and Asia; co-chair of the Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics Dwight Jafee will discuss an American-style school of management in St. Petersburg, Russia; and Stan Breitbard will offer insights on personal finance issues. Following the faculty presentations, a panel of MBA students known as "Netrepreneurs" will share tales of launching businesses on the Internet. The colloquium runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and takes place in the BankAmerica Forum located in the Haas Business School.
