The campus telecommuting policy is now official, following campus development and comment. In approving the policy, Chancellor Tien said it will "enable [staff] to achieve a more successful balance between work responsibilities and family life." The policy is supplemented by guidelines for developing telecom-muting agreements, a model agreement, a checklist for developing telecommuting proposals and a safety checklist for employees' alternate work sites. The text of the policy and attachments were sent to deans, directors, department chairs and administrative officers in May.
