Staff Internships Offer A Career Change Jump Start

This spring, Berkeley's Staff Internship Program is recruiting for seven new internships.

Staff internships are paid, mentored, on-the-job traineeships available to campus career employees. Most last from six months to one year.

"The internship program gives employees the opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience that will ultimately help them accomplish their career goals," said Bernie Tower, who was an administrative assistant in the Physics Department before her internship. Today, she is a programmer in Information Systems and Technology.

For more information on this year's internships, attend an informational meeting Feb. 18 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Lipman Room, Barrows Hall (8th floor). The brown bag luncheon meeting will include presentations by mentors and a question and answer session.
