UC/City Plan Southside Renewal

How to improve the Southside neighborhood &emdash; as both a place for shoppers and visitors and a place to live &emdash; is the subject of a new community planning process jointly funded by the City of Berkeley and UC Berkeley.

Two public meetings were held last spring involving students, long-term residents, merchants, institutions and other members of the diverse south campus community. The discussion continues this fall with a series of public workshops, each held at the recreation room, Unit I student housing, 2650 Durant Ave. (at College Ave.) at 7 p.m.
