The Berkeley Art Museum hosts its last sale of Asian art, posters, collector's items and original artwork later this month, after 20 popular years.

"For years, we've had an incredible backstock of promotional and donated items," said Rod MacNeil, museum publicist. "Through the years, we've sold much of this through our annual sales and, after two decades, we are at the end of our inventory."

The sale, taking place at the museum Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26 to 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., features Chinese and Japanese scrolls, woodcut prints, calligraphy and fumpon -- 19th- and 20th-century Japanese ink brush drawings.

Posters on sale include hundreds of images, such as art, photography, exhibition, political and signed posters. A limited number of recipe prints by artist David Goines will also be available.

Prices for the Asian pieces range from $5 to $500 while the posters are priced between $2 and $200.

A silent auction, closing at 4 p.m. Saturday, will be held during the sale. Bids will be taken on such items as scroll paintings, photographs, recent prints and signed posters. Large-scale exhibition banners will also be put on the block.
