Hellman Family Faculty Fund applications due Feb. 26 The fund provides research support for assistant professors who show capacity for great distinction in their research. This year, $300,000 will be available for awards. Individuals may apply for a grant of up to $50,000; the maximum award granted in the last three competitions was $45,000. In science and engineering, the average grant over this period was $31,500; for the humanities, the average was $12,500. Awards will be announced in May. Public forum set on northeast campus building projects The meeting, hosted by Capital Projects and Community Relations, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in Sibley Auditorium of the Bechtel Engineering Center. At the meeting, members of the community will have a chance to review and comment on the projects, as work begins on their environmental impact report. The campus plans to replace Stanley Hall and an older portion of Davis Hall with two modern and seismically sound research and teaching facilities. The new buildings will bring together interdisciplinary scholars working at the crossroads of the physical and biological sciences and engineering. Correction
