Campus to participate in Take Our Children to Work Day Join a noontime celebration at Memorial Glade, with complimentary hot dogs, tofu dogs and ice cream available for the children. Hosts are sought for nearly 30 Willard Middle School students who have been invited to shadow employees during the event. May 4 deadline for student tour guide applications Campus forums to address strategic planning Faculty, staff and students are invited to provide input at any of a series of divisional forums from April 10 to 19. Remaining faculty-oriented forums (others are also welcome), each from 5 to 6 p.m., will be held on the following dates: Monday, April 16, at 2060 Valley Life Sciences Building; Tuesday, April 17, at 10 Evans Hall; and Thursday, April 19, at 145 Dwinelle Hall. A forum targeted for staff is scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, in the Toll Room, Alumni House, noon to 1 p.m. For information, contact Yvonne Choate at ychoate@uclink4.berkeley.edu or 643-5088. Goldman School to break ground with April 16 lecture, ceremony The event begins with a public lecture, from 10:30 to 11;45 a.m., followed by a groundbreaking ceremony at noon. Visiting scholar Harold Smith, former assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Defense, will speak on “Facing Russia and China: Foreign Policy Options for the Bush Administration.” Michael Nacht, dean of the school, will join him. The new, 13,000-square-foot facility, designed by the Architectural Resources Group, will consist of faculty offices, classrooms and lecture space. Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2002. The school is located at 2607 Hearst Avenue.
