Bears on the move
16 August 2001
|
Workers recently moved the Macchi Bears from their pedestals in front of McLaughlin Hall. The bears, named for an engineering alumnus who donated them to Berkeley, are being refurbished over the next several weeks. It will be mid-fall before the bears return to their spot outside the entrance to McLaughlin. Originally hollow, the bears will be filled to stengthen them and restored. The Macchi Bears are popular with students and visitors, who pose with them for photos.
