Fiat Lux — let there be light.

Across campus these past few days, that statement has been more than a motto. It’s been a way of life.

Whether male or female, Christian or Muslim, we stood shoulder to shoulder and watched terror unfold.

We shared our pain and anger. We mourned the fallen. And in our darkest hour, we came together in our search for answers.

Through our pictures and words, the staffs of The Daily Californian and the Berkeleyan wanted to document this moment. While this joint issue of the two newspapers is a first for the university, it represents merely a fraction of the unity displayed campuswide in the past week.
