A song from the heart
UC Choral Ensembles provides pitch-perfect valentine serenades

02 February 2005

For the third year running, UC Choral Ensembles will offer singing “Valentine Grams,” the group’s solution to the perennial lover’s quandary, “What should I get my sweetheart on Valentine’s Day?” Not only will a quartet from Choral Ensembles serenade your beloved in four-part harmony, they will also deliver a long-stemmed rose and a Valentine’s Day card personalized by the purchaser. Valentine Grams will be “delivered” on Sunday, Feb. 13, from noon to 10 p.m., and on the big day itself, Monday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Funds raised go toward supporting UC Choral Ensembles.

Singing Valentine Grams are available to students for $20 if the recipient is on or within a few blocks of the campus and for $30 if the quartet is sent farther afield within Berkeley city limits. The cost for non-students is $40 for recipients in the campus area and $50 for those in more-distant locations but still reachable in Berkeley.

Reservations, payment, and the requisite paperwork need to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 11, in the Student Musical Activities Office in 72 Cesar Chavez (basement level). The office is open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Payment may be made only in cash or by check to UC Regents — UC Choral Ensembles. Reservations can be made after Feb. 11 by sending an email to ucce-external@ucchoral.berkeley.edu.
